Dr Daniel Barolet, a pioneer in laser dermatology treatment
An innovator in all aspects of his practice, Dr Daniel Barolet’s many years of experience in medical dermatology have given him an internationally recognized expertise.
Constantly seeking new treatment methods to offer better care to his patients, Dr. Barolet has devoted most of his career not only to treating, but also to researching and transferring his scientific knowledge of the therapeutic use of lasers and associated technologies for dermatological purposes. His desire has always been to ensure that as many people as possible have access to laser dermatology, particularly for last-resort treatments.
In charge of clinical training (laser component) at the Université de Montréal from 1992 to 2000, Dr. Barolet has also led numerous advanced workshops, and authored several scientific articles on light-based treatments in dermatology.
In addition to his private practice and his role as Associate Professor at McGill University, he has been a frequent speaker at national and international conferences. During his 25 years of scientific research, Dr. Barolet has regularly presented the results of his laboratory and clinical work under his direction.
Research and development activities at RoseLab, our cutaneous optics research laboratory, have led to a number of technological innovations, patents and new treatment methods. His research, which focused on laser-skin interactions, LED therapy or photobiomodulation, and photodynamic therapy (PDT), led to the commissioning of some thirty lasers. Most are still in use at the clinic.
A graduate of McGill and Laval universities, as well as the Université de Montréal, Dr. Daniel Barolet has been a dermatologist specializing in laser treatments since 1991.
