Tattoo Removal: Nano and Picosecond Lasers
Laser treatment remains the safest and most effective way to remove unwanted tattoos. This procedure, which causes minimal bleeding, selectively targets the ink pigments used to colour the tattoo. When the pigments absorb the intense laser light, they fragment into tiny particles that are naturally eliminated by the body within a few weeks. The treated area forms a crust or scab, which falls off after a few days.
However, it is important to know that the ink used in some tattoos cannot be entirely erased, even after multiple laser treatments.
The new picosecond laser can reduce the number of treatments needed by up to 40%.
The highly accurate picosecond lasers can now fragment ultra-fine ink particles, owing to new advanced technology.
